Tottenham have dragged feet on Gareth Bale deal, Real Madrid VP says

via GuardianUK

• Fernando Fernández-Tapias sends warning to Spurs
• 'We have a great team without Bale', vice-president says

The Real Madrid vice-president, Fernando Fernández-Tapias, has said that he expected Gareth Bale to have joined the club by now and has accused Tottenham of dragging their feet over the deal. He also warned the Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy, that Madrid have a great team even "without Bale".
Asked if he thought that Bale will sign for Madrid, Fernández-Tapias said: "I think so, yes, but I could not swear to it entirely. We are going to wait and see what happens. Sometimes it is yes, sometimes it is no: they keep putting it off.
"[Bale] is not here, because there are problems there. We thought Bale was going to be with us by now but for the time being he is still not in Madrid. I don't doubt the value of the player but Real Madrid without Bale is still a strong Madrid. We have a great team."

Syrian Rebels Used Sarin Nerve Gas, Not Assad’s Regime: U.N. Official

Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior U.N. diplomat said Monday.

Carla del Ponte, a member of the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, told Swiss TV there were “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof,” that rebels seeking to oust Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent.

But she said her panel had not yet seen any evidence of Syrian government forces using chemical weapons, according to the BBC, but she added that more investigation was needed.

Damascus has recently facing growing Western accusations that its forces used such weapons, which President Obama has described as crossing a red line. But Ms. del Ponte’s remarks may serve to shift the focus of international concern.

Ms. del Ponte, who in 1999 was appointed to head the U.N. was crimes tribunals for Yugoslavia and Rwanda, has sometimes been a controversial figure. She was removed from her Rwanda post by the U.N. Security Council in 2003, but she continued as the chief prosecutor for the Yugoslav tribunal until 2008.

Ms. del Ponte, a former Swiss prosecutor and attorney general, told Swiss TV: “Our investigators have been in neighboring countries interviewing victims, doctors and field hospitals. According to their report of last week, which I have seen, there are strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof of the use of sarin gas, from the way the victims were treated.”

She gave no further details, the BBC said.

The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria was established in August 2011 to examine alleged violations of human rights in the Syrian conflict which started in March that year.

Syria crisis: UN inspectors' convoy hit by sniper fire

via BBC

Unidentified snipers have opened fire on a convoy of UN experts investigating suspected chemical weapons attacks in Syria's capital, the UN has said.
One car was shot at "multiple times", forcing the convoy to turn back.
Syrian state media blamed opposition "terrorists" for the attack, though the claim could not be verified.
The UN team later resumed its mission, entering the western district of Muadhamiya to gather evidence, before returning to central Damascus.
Hundreds died in alleged attacks on Wednesday in five districts near Damascus.
The US said there was little doubt that Syrian forces used chemical weapons in the attacks, which reportedly killed more than 300 people in rebel-held areas.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad dismissed the accusation as "an insult to common sense" and warned the US against military intervention.
"If someone is dreaming of making Syria a puppet of the West, then this will not happen," he told the Russian newspaper Izvestiya.

Outrage Over Adeboye’s 3-km Long Church Auditorium-PM News, Lagos

The announcement last Saturday that the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, would build a three kilometre long auditorium in Nigeria has triggered outrage among Nigerians who call the humongous investment a waste and another cofirmation that Nigerian churches are veering off the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, announced during the Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption Camp in Mowe area of Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, that the existing auditorium which was built in 2000 with a capacity to sit one million people at once could
no longer accommodate millions of people who attend service there.
Adeboye said that the new auditorium which would be built at the mission’s camp ground at km 46, Lagos-Ibadan expressway would also be three kilometres wide. This will make the auditorium a humongous 9km square auditorium, and one of the top ten churches in the world in
area size.
The Holy Ghost Service was one of the programmes lined up for the 61st Annual Convention of the church and Adeboye promised that the project will start soonest and will be completed before the 62nd Convention in August 2014. He solicited for donations from members toward making the project a reality.

Video: Don Jazzy and D'Banj Performs Together @ Dotun's Wedding

A lot of people have been talking about a D'Banj and Don Jazzy re-union since their shocking break up, and this is by far the closest they have appeared together in public since the break-up in March 2012 and the venue was perfect, the wedding ceremony of D'banj's sister.

The erstwhile partners met up at D'banj's younger sister's wedding to Cool FM's Dotun on, August 3, 2013 at The Grandeur Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.

The top producer at Mavin Records and top recording artiste at DB Records shocked guests when they got on stage and performed some of their hit duets including 'Mr Endowed', 'Fall in love' and 'Suddenly' for the new couple.

Although the pair has met a couple of times since parting ways, it is the first time they're performing together.

It was not clear as at yesterday if Don Jazzy would attend the wedding. But those familiar with the producer say it's no surprise he joined the Oyebanjos for what's an important celebration. 'Don Jazzy is part of the family. What has happened has happened, but Jazzy was quite close to the family and D'Banj's mom was like the mother of Mohits', a source told NE.

D'banj who confessed he's 'extremely happy', about the surprise reunion also presented the couple with a brand new Honda CRV.

Don Jazzy and D'banj's relationship collapsed controversially last year. Label-mates and collaborators like Dr SID, D'Prince and Wande Coal took sides with Don Jazzy while younger brother KaySwitch pitched tents with D'banj.

Gareth Bale transfer agreed at £105m claim Real Madrid

Real Madrid have agreed to pay £105million in a part-exchange deal for Gareth Bale.
The Spanish giants were claiming on Thursday night that a staggering, world-record accord had been sealed with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
Tottenham insist there is still work to be done though, with the clubs as yet unable to agree on which Real players will travel in the opposite direction as part of the move.
Levy wants any cash offer to exceed the world record £80m paid by Manchester United to Real for Cristiano Ronaldo four years ago, before a player is included.
Real have withdrawn left-back Fabio Coentrao – one of the players they are offering – from their friendly with LA Galaxy claiming “muscle issues”.
But they have dismissed an attempt by the north Londoners to take Spain Under-21 striker Alvaro Morata.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is a big fan of the 20-year-old, who was the tournament's leading scorer two months ago as Spain lifted the European Under-21 title.
